Vinesh Phogat Addresses Key Issues After Wrestling Trials in Delhi
Vinesh Phogat's Return to Jind After Wrestling Trials
Former Olympian and Congress legislator Vinesh Phogat made her way back to her Jind constituency after participating in the wrestling selection trials for the 2026 Asian Games at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. Upon her arrival, she engaged with the media on several significant topics.
Concerns Over Voter Registration in Haryana
Discussing the initiation of the SIR program in Haryana, Phogat emphasized the importance of ensuring that no fraudulent voters are included in the list and that genuine voters are not excluded.
Denial of Discontent Within Congress
Addressing rumors of dissatisfaction and factionalism among Congress workers in her constituency, Phogat clarified, "There is no discontent within the party. Congress operates like a family. If there are minor disagreements, we resolve them together. I am working to unite everyone in the region and keep them informed."
She further stated, "The enthusiasm within the Congress party is at an all-time high. We are empowering all workers, and the party's clear stance is to connect people with our ideology rather than with any individual."
Concerns for Athletes' Future
Phogat expressed her worries regarding the intersection of politics and sports, stating, "If politics attempts to undermine our sports, we must also step onto the political field to address it. I have entered this arena to positively impact the youth and athletes of our country and provide them with the right platform."
Criticism of Rising Gas Cylinder Prices
Phogat launched a strong critique against the government regarding the continuous rise in domestic gas cylinder prices. She remarked, "Gas prices have increased for the third time, and further hikes are anticipated. Our leader Rahul Gandhi has consistently highlighted this issue of inflation across the country, and it is now evident to everyone."
Expressing her concerns about inflation, she added, "This inflation is just beginning; the difficulties for the common people are set to escalate. There are times when I personally face challenges in obtaining a gas cylinder."
