During the esteemed Annual Business Summit 2026 hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi, grassroots activist Vimla Vishw Premi from Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, received accolades for her remarkable contributions to society.
Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan awarded her a citation, a trophy, and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh. This recognition highlighted her unwavering commitment to combating social issues and her initiatives to empower communities through her organization, Parvatiya Mahila Vikas Trust.
In his speech, Minister Pradhan commended Vimla Ji as a role model for women’s empowerment, emphasizing her successful implementation of self-reliance initiatives among underprivileged groups. For over thirty years, she has been a leading figure in the fight against gender inequality and social injustices, raising awareness among countless women and offering legal support to those in need.
Her leadership has amplified women's voices in the mountainous regions, establishing her as a symbol of strength and determination. At the CII summit, 20 remarkable women from across the nation were honored, with Vimla Vishw Premi proudly representing Himachal Pradesh on this prominent platform.
