Vijay Unveils Empowerment Initiatives Ahead of International Women's Day
Vijay's Promises for Women's Empowerment and Education
On Saturday, actor and leader of the Tamilga Vetrikazhagam (TVK), Vijay, made several electoral commitments aimed at promoting women's empowerment and education. Speaking to party workers ahead of International Women's Day, he announced that his party would provide six free LPG cylinders annually to each family, increase the women's rights allowance to ₹2,500 per month, and establish a separate department for women, children, and the elderly under his direct supervision.
During his address, Vijay reiterated the promise of six free LPG gas cylinders per year for every household. He emphasized the increase of the women's rights allowance to ₹2,500 monthly and the creation of a dedicated department focused on the safety and welfare of women, children, and the elderly, which aligns with the party's core principles. Additionally, he mentioned that all female heads of households aged 60 and above would receive a monthly support of ₹2,500, although state and central government employees would be excluded from this scheme.
Vijay also introduced the 'Annapoorni Super Six Scheme,' which guarantees six free LPG cylinders annually to each family, and the 'Annan Seer Scheme,' which offers brides a gold ornament and a silk saree as part of marriage customs. Furthermore, he announced the 'Kamaraj Education Rights Scheme,' which aims to provide ₹15,000 annually to mothers or guardians of children from grades 1 to 12 to reduce dropout rates.
He elaborated on the Annapoorni Super Six Scheme, confirming that each family would receive six free LPG cylinders each year. The Annan Seer Scheme would provide brides with an 8-gram gold ornament and a silk saree as a customary gift from their parental home during marriage. The Kamaraj Education Rights Scheme is designed to ensure that no child from grades 1 to 12 drops out of school, offering financial assistance of ₹15,000 annually to each parent or guardian.
