A Call for Global Cooperation

New Delhi: On Tuesday, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan emphasized that the peace of humanity should take precedence over individual national interests, advocating for a collaborative approach to global challenges.

He highlighted India's role as a prominent advocate for peace, progress, and prosperity on the world stage.

Radhakrishnan noted a significant transformation in Indian diplomacy over the past decade, characterized by increased engagement and a newfound confidence. He referenced External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's assertion that nations must view global issues as collective concerns rather than isolated problems.

The Vice President stressed that only through a shared perspective can solutions be achieved.

During an event commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Indian Council for World Affairs receiving 'institution of national importance' status via parliamentary legislation, he remarked on the remarkable success of the recent BRICS Summit amidst a world fraught with conflicts.

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, calling the unanimous declaration from BRICS leaders a significant milestone for India.

Jaishankar, speaking at the event, noted that India's diplomatic outreach now encompasses a broader spectrum of countries and regions, reflecting its increasingly global interests.

The Vice President also serves as the president of the ICWA, which focuses on educating the public about global issues and international relations.
