Varun Chakravarthy has made history by becoming the third player to achieve 100 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He joins the ranks of Sunil Narine and Andre Russell, who have also reached this milestone. According to CricViz statistics, Narine holds the record for the most wickets for KKR with 196, followed by Russell with 122 wickets. Chakravarthy now stands at 100 wickets for the franchise.
He reached this significant milestone during a match against the Gujarat Titans, where he recorded bowling figures of 2 wickets for 34 runs in 4 overs. In this game, he successfully dismissed Jos Buttler and Washington Sundar. This achievement comes amidst a challenging IPL 2026 season for Chakravarthy and KKR, as this was his first time taking wickets in the tournament.
