During the ongoing 72nd Senior National Volleyball Championship, BJP leader Mahendra Nath Pandey remarked that Varanasi is gaining significant recognition both nationally and internationally in various fields, including culture, religion, infrastructure, and sports, thanks to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


Details of the Championship

The 72nd Senior National Volleyball Championship, which commenced on January 4, is scheduled to conclude on January 11. This prestigious event features over 1,000 athletes competing in 58 teams from different States, Union Territories, and Institutional Units across the nation.

Pandey praised Varanasi for its global stature in various domains and extended his best wishes to all teams participating in the championship. He stated, "Under PM Modi's guidance, Varanasi is establishing itself as a prominent city in India and worldwide in culture, religion, and infrastructure, while also making strides in sports. Championship Schedule

The league matches for the Senior National Volleyball Championship took place from January 4 to January 8, with quarterfinal qualifying matches also held on January 8. The quarterfinals are set for January 9, followed by the semifinals on January 10, and the medal matches on January 11.

On January 4, PM Modi inaugurated the National Volleyball Championship through video conferencing, sending his best wishes to players nationwide and emphasizing the significance of sports in nation-building.
