Uttarakhand's First Women's Sports College Under Construction in Champawat
On-Site Inspection by Chief Minister
On Friday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the site of Uttarakhand's inaugural Women's Sports College, which is being built in the Chamaniya area of Lohaghat, Champawat district. The project is estimated to cost approximately Rs 256 crore.
Emphasis on Timely and Quality Completion
During his visit, the Chief Minister urged the construction agency and departmental officials to ensure that the project is completed on schedule and adheres to high-quality standards.
Thorough Review of Facilities
While inspecting the site, CM Dhami evaluated the progress of various sports facilities, including a football ground, an astroturf hockey field, volleyball and basketball courts, and a synthetic athletic track.
He also looked into the development of essential infrastructure, such as a hostel accommodating 300 girls, staff quarters, an administrative building, an academic block, a multipurpose hall, an auditorium, and a guest house.

During his inspection, CM Dhami shared a delightful moment with a young girl who expressed her excitement about meeting him, saying, "To meet Pushkar Singh Dhami," which brought laughter to the Chief Minister.
Empowering the Daughters of Uttarakhand
Dhami highlighted that the Women's Sports College in Lohaghat aims to provide world-class sports facilities for the daughters of the state.
The sports infrastructure being developed will comply with international standards, allowing female athletes from Uttarakhand to excel in national and international competitions. He emphasized that the institution will offer a comprehensive system of training, education, and accommodation, creating a robust platform for talented girls, particularly from rural and mountainous areas, to achieve their goals.
