Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Commends Government's Focus on Welfare

On January 31, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his admiration for the central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for initiating a new wave of development over the past 12 years, emphasizing service, good governance, and the welfare of the underprivileged. Dhami shared on his official social media account X that the government's focus on the principle of 'Antyodaya' has significantly transformed the lives of millions of poor, marginalized, and needy families.

He stated that under the esteemed leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the last 12 years have seen a new stream of development centered on service, good governance, and the welfare of the poor. The Chief Minister further noted that this welfare-oriented approach has systematically uplifted the socio-economic status of marginalized citizens. To highlight the extensive impact of central welfare initiatives, Dhami mentioned several key schemes implemented during Modi's tenure. He emphasized programs such as Jan Dhan accounts, the Ujjwala scheme, Ayushman Bharat, the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Swachh Bharat Mission, and the PM Awas Yojana as crucial for ensuring social security for citizens.

According to him, these welfare schemes have played a vital role in providing dignity, security, and confidence to the poor, marginalized, and those at the bottom of the social ladder. Reiterating Uttarakhand's commitment to the central government's vision, Dhami stressed the active role of the double-engine government in the state. He confirmed that the state administration is making continuous and relentless efforts to ensure that the direct benefits of these welfare schemes reach those in need.

On January 29, a state-level 'Save the Fields' campaign was organized in Havalbag to protect agriculture from the impacts of climate change in Uttarakhand. This initiative aims to enhance soil fertility, promote the cultivation of traditional grains, and equip farmers with the necessary knowledge to adapt to environmental challenges. The focus is particularly on the conservation and increased production of traditional grains such as Ragi (Mandua), Ragi (Jhangora), and Amaranth (Chaulai), along with other indigenous crops.
