Today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand recognized the remarkable achievements of athletes and their coaches at his residence. This event celebrated the outstanding performances of these individuals at the Commonwealth Games 2026, which took place in Glasgow, Scotland. The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt congratulations to all medalists, their coaches, and family members, emphasizing that their accomplishments bring immense pride and serve as an inspiration for the entire state.

Honorees at the Ceremony

Among those honored were para-athlete Shubham Juyal from Roorkee, who earned a silver medal, and judoka Unnati Sharma from Dehradun, who secured a bronze medal. The coaches recognized included Rakesh Singh Rawat from Pauri, who trained Juyal, and Unnati Sharma's coaches, Satish Chandra Sharma and Punesh Kumar Singh from Dehradun. Additionally, Khimanand Belwal from Haldwani, the coach of the Indian boxing team, was also acknowledged.
