Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Meets with Nurse Securing International Job
On Wednesday, Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Sapna Rana at her residence to congratulate her on landing a job in Germany with a monthly salary of approximately ₹3.30 lakh. Under the state's 'Chief Minister's Skill Enhancement and Global Employment Scheme', Rana completed her training in the German language and successfully passed the required language examination. Following this, she secured a position at the Schön Klinik hospital in Hamburg, Germany, with a salary of 3,060 euros (around ₹3.30 lakh) per month. The Chief Minister emphasized that the 'Overseas Employment Cell', established under the Skill Development and Employment Department, is actively working to connect Uttarakhand's youth with international job opportunities.
Training Programs for Job Opportunities Abroad
This cell is currently providing language training to create job opportunities for youth in Japan and Germany. According to officials, around 65 young individuals from the state have already found employment in Japan. Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bahuguna noted that there are excellent job prospects in the nursing sector in Germany, prompting the Overseas Employment Cell to run a German language training program. After completing this training, Sapna Rana, a nursing professional from Tehri Garhwal, was selected for a nursing position in Germany.
Educational Background and Government Initiatives
Rana completed her schooling at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Pokhal and pursued her nursing studies at the State Nursing College in Dehradun. Through the 'Chief Minister's Skill Enhancement and Global Employment Scheme', she received German language training, which led to her job offer at the Schön Klinik hospital in Hamburg. A press release stated that the aim of this initiative is to prepare the youth of the state and make them capable of securing jobs abroad. The scheme was presented to the Cabinet today and received approval. The press release also mentioned that an application has been developed on the 'Apni Sarkar Portal' to create a database of youth seeking employment abroad.
