Uttar Pradesh's Economic Journey

On Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted that Uttar Pradesh has transitioned from being classified as a 'Bimaru' state to becoming one of India's top three economies over the past nine years. He attributed this significant change to effective governance, teamwork, and the strategic use of technology. While inaugurating the new state-of-the-art campus of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Uttar Pradesh Academy of Administration and Management (RUPAAM), the Chief Minister emphasized that the state's developmental journey reflects a shift in governance and public perception.

He noted that Uttar Pradesh has overcome its identity crisis, establishing itself among states that no longer face such challenges in governance, administration, or public perception. Discussing the state's economic progress, CM Yogi stated that Uttar Pradesh has moved from being one of the five most backward economies to ranking among the top three. The state has shed its 'Bimaru' label, set new standards for security and governance, effectively managed crowd control, and demonstrated how technology can transform the lives of ordinary citizens.

The Chief Minister remarked that the nature of governance is shaped not only by political leadership but also by the functioning of the administrative system. He pointed out that public opinion about any government is formed based on the performance of its administrative machinery. The bureaucracy acts as a bridge between the government and the public. When this bridge operates effectively, government schemes reach beneficiaries, leading to a change in public perception.

While discussing improvements in the Public Distribution System (PDS), CM Yogi mentioned that complaints regarding ration distribution were common before 2017, but the introduction of e-PoS machines has significantly reduced these issues. He stated that the installation of e-PoS machines has resolved many complaints, ensuring that the poor receive their rations and curbing discrepancies in the system. Emphasizing the importance of teamwork, the Chief Minister asserted that success comes from collaboration and a positive mindset. If we work in isolation, undermine team spirit, or harbor negative thoughts towards others, we will not achieve desired outcomes.
