School Closures Amid Cold Wave

In Uttar Pradesh, all educational institutions will remain shut until Thursday as a result of the ongoing cold wave, as stated by Chief Minister Adityanath.

The India Meteorological Department has issued warnings regarding thick fog and persistent cold weather conditions across the state, expected to last at least until Wednesday.

This closure directive, announced on Sunday, affects schools under the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education, Central Board of Secondary Education, and the state education board.

Adityanath emphasized that the safety of children is the top priority during this cold spell, asserting that any negligence will not be accepted.

He has instructed government officials to stay vigilant and monitor the situation in their respective districts.

Additionally, the chief minister has mandated that district authorities make provisions for blankets and bonfires in public areas, along with specific guidelines for the operation of night shelters. He stressed that no individual should be compelled to sleep outdoors in these frigid conditions.

“All essential amenities, including bedding, blankets, and hygiene, must be guaranteed at all night shelters,” he stated.
