Uttar Pradesh Government's Zero-Tolerance Policy on Ayodhya Temple Donation Fraud
Response to Arrests in Ayodhya Temple Donation Case
In light of the recent arrests of eight individuals linked to alleged fraud in donations for the Ayodhya Ram Temple, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the Uttar Pradesh government has adopted a 'zero-tolerance' approach towards those attempting to exploit Sanatan values and public faith. Speaking publicly on the matter, he noted that actions were initiated promptly following the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report. He reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that there would be no compromises in matters related to Ayodhya.
The Chief Minister stated, 'Do not worry about Ayodhya.' He assured that as soon as the SIT report was received, immediate actions were taken. He stressed that any manipulation of faith-related issues would not be tolerated. Yogi also appealed to those raising concerns about the issue, pointing out that these were the same individuals who had previously denied the existence of Lord Ram. During his visit to Ayodhya on June 19, he made the government's stance clear, warning against any misuse of public trust or attempts to tarnish a site of deep religious significance for millions.
He mentioned that the SIT report has paved the way for decisive action, and following the report's findings, the administration has acted swiftly. Emphasizing that faith should not be taken lightly, the Chief Minister asserted that any attempts to manipulate religious sentiments or misuse institutions associated with people's beliefs would be completely unacceptable. He described Ayodhya as a symbol of collective faith and stated that maintaining its dignity and values is a priority for the government.
Political Criticism and Opposition Response
Additionally, Yogi launched a sharp political attack on opposition parties for criticizing these developments. Without naming anyone, he accused certain factions of trying to politicize the issue, despite their historical opposition to the Ram Temple movement. He pointed out that one faction had previously claimed that Lord Ram did not exist, indicating their desire to deny Ayodhya's significance. They have consistently fought legal battles against the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, while simultaneously attacking those who chant 'Jai Shri Ram' with violence.
