Uttar Pradesh Government Renames Jalalabad Tehsil to Bhagwan Parshuram Puri
Significant Administrative Change in Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh government has made a notable administrative decision by approving the renaming of the Jalalabad tehsil in Shahjahanpur district. This area will now officially be referred to as ‘Bhagwan Parshuram Puri’. The resolution was passed during a state cabinet meeting, marking a significant administrative shift.
The meeting took place at the Chief Minister's residence on Kalidas Marg in Lucknow, attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, both Deputy Chief Ministers, and several senior ministers from the state. Various important proposals were discussed, leading to the approval of the name change for Jalalabad tehsil.
Following this governmental decision, the process for changing the name at the administrative level will commence. This will involve necessary amendments in revenue records, official documents, maps, and various departmental records. Officials have indicated that a detailed government order will be issued soon, after which the name change will be formally implemented.
This name change is viewed as a significant step from both administrative and cultural perspectives. Henceforth, all official records will reflect the name ‘Bhagwan Parshuram Puri’ instead of Jalalabad tehsil. Local administration has been instructed to complete the change process in a timely manner.
The decision has sparked discussions within the community, with varied reactions emerging locally. Some individuals associate the change with cultural identity, while administrative officials regard it merely as a modification related to records and nomenclature.
Currently, the district administration and the revenue department are collaborating to implement this change. It is anticipated that the new name will be fully integrated into all government operations and documents in the near future.
