Financial Assistance for Victims' Families
Following directives from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government has initiated financial support for families who lost loved ones in a recent rain-related incident in Pratapgarh. In adherence to the Chief Minister's orders, the district magistrate of Pratapgarh distributed ₹4 lakh to each family of the deceased. Under the state's immediate relief measures, a total of ₹26.20 lakh has been allocated to the affected families. The Chief Minister has also instructed officials to ensure that all injured individuals receive timely and appropriate medical care. The district administration has been tasked with providing comprehensive assistance to the victims and closely monitoring their conditions.
Tragic Incident in Pratapgarh
This financial aid comes in the wake of a tragic event in Pratapgarh, where a century-old house collapsed due to monsoon rains, resulting in the deaths of six family members, including two young children. The only survivor, a 28-year-old man, sustained severe injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. This incident is part of a series of rain-related occurrences in Uttar Pradesh, which have led to walls collapsing and other accidents, contributing to a total of nine fatalities across the state.
Prompt Compensation for Affected Families
Officials reported that the compensation funds were disbursed on a priority basis to provide immediate financial relief to the affected families. In line with the Chief Minister's directives, the district magistrate personally handed over checks to the family members. The state government has also instructed local authorities to maintain ongoing communication with the victims' families to ensure that there are no lapses in providing relief or medical assistance. Health officials have been directed to deliver the best possible care to the injured.
