Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Claims Saffron Party Ready to Welcome Sapa Legislators
Deputy CM's Bold Claims
On Friday, Keshav Prasad Maurya, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, asserted that several legislators from the Samajwadi Party (SP) are eager to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but the BJP is currently not accepting them.
During his visit to Agra, Maurya praised the central government's newly introduced 'Developed India Ji Ram Ji' scheme, stating that it aims to curb corruption. He mentioned this during a press interaction at the Circuit House, emphasizing that opposition parties, including Congress and SP, are troubled by this initiative.
He remarked, 'Since Akhilesh Yadav returned from his electoral defeat in Bihar, he has been agitated and anxious. He is dreaming of forming a government in 2027, hoping to divide society for political gain.'
Maurya further claimed that while the SP managed to secure some seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections through 'spreading falsehoods,' the voters in Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Bihar have rejected that illusion.
He reiterated that many SP legislators wish to join the BJP, but the party is not currently incorporating them.
Criticizing the SP leader's 'PDA' slogan, he stated that PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) now stands for 'Family Development Agency,' which has lost its significance. The Deputy CM also targeted opposition parties, suggesting that those who struggle to mention Ram are the same individuals opposing the Ji Ram Ji scheme.
