Safety Measures in Response to Tragic Incident
In light of the devastating fire at a restaurant in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, which resulted in the loss of 21 lives, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has mandated a thorough safety inspection of hotels and commercial establishments across the state. The Chief Minister instructed all development authorities, police departments, the Public Works Department (PWD), and fire safety officials, among others, to ensure that comprehensive inspections are conducted on all high-rise buildings, offices, hotels, and commercial properties to verify the presence of fire safety systems.

Furthermore, he emphasized the need for special safety audits of all hotels, with reports to be submitted for review. Commenting on the Chief Minister's directives, Chief Fire Officer Ankush Mittal confirmed that dedicated teams are actively inspecting local hotels and warned of strict legal action against any establishment found violating fire safety regulations. Mittal informed that campaigns are being conducted across all hotels and various stations, with representatives inspecting hotels within their jurisdictions. Meanwhile, expressing sorrow over the Delhi tragedy, Uttar Pradesh Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna announced that new directives are being issued to district magistrates and local authorities to enforce safety compliance rigorously. Speaking to reporters, Khanna described the incident in Delhi as extremely tragic, reiterating that instructions are regularly provided, and today, they will once again guide district magistrates and other relevant officials on this matter.
