Tribute to a Spiritual Leader

On Friday, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, paid homage to Swami Vivekananda on the occasion of his death anniversary, attributing to him the establishment of Sanatan culture on a global stage through the light of Vedanta.

In a post on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister remarked, 'The greater the challenge, the more glorious the victory.' He honored the young monk, referred to as the 'Rashtra Rishi,' for awakening a slumbering India with the proclamation of civilization, values, and self-respect—'Proudly say, we are Hindus'—on this significant day.

He further stated that Swami Vivekananda illuminated the world stage with Sanatan culture through Vedanta, service, and inner strength. His vision for nation-building and the mantra 'Arise, awake' will continue to guide the youth of India for generations to come.

Several leaders, including Satish Mahana, the Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, also remembered Vivekananda on Friday.

Swami Vivekananda, a revered spiritual leader, philosopher, and thinker, was born on January 12, 1863, in Kolkata and passed away on July 4, 1902. He is particularly remembered for his unforgettable address at the World Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893, where he presented India's culture and traditions with a strong image to the world.
