Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Emphasizes Self-Reliant Villages for State's Growth

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has highlighted the crucial role of self-sufficient village councils in achieving the state's overall self-reliance. During a recent meeting, he reviewed the Panchayati Raj department's initiatives and called for strategic plans to boost village incomes. He also urged for the swift completion of celebration halls for community events and wellness activities. Furthermore, the Chief Minister introduced the Motherland Scheme to connect with migrants, proposing to honor their contributions at state events. Notably, Uttar Pradesh is leading the nation in individual toilet construction, with significant progress reported this financial year.
 

Focus on Self-Reliant Villages

On Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh stated that the state can only achieve self-reliance if its village councils become self-sufficient. During a high-level meeting held at his official residence, he reviewed the activities of the Panchayati Raj department. He emphasized that the path to a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh is through empowering village councils.


Yogi instructed officials to devise a plan aimed at increasing the income of these village councils.


Accelerating Development Initiatives

The Chief Minister also directed officials to expedite development projects within the village councils. He urged them to accelerate the construction of celebration halls, which should be prioritized for auspicious events. On non-event days, these halls are to be utilized for yoga and wellness activities.


Connecting Migrants through the Motherland Scheme

According to the official statement, the Chief Minister instructed that the Motherland Scheme should connect the state's migrants. He proposed naming the projects after the ancestors of those migrants who contribute to the initiative. Additionally, these migrants should be honored at state-level events to inspire others.


Progress in Toilet Construction

The meeting revealed that for the current financial year, a target of constructing 9.67 lakh individual toilets was set, with 4.79 lakh already completed. Uttar Pradesh is currently leading the nation in the construction of individual toilets.
