Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Calls for Nationwide Participation in Tricolor Campaign

During a recent meeting, he emphasized the importance of this campaign as a national movement to foster patriotism and respect for the flag. The CM outlined plans for flag distribution and urged public participation in upcoming events, including Independence Day celebrations and the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. This initiative aims to connect citizens with the nation's glorious history and promote a sense of unity across the state.

Chief Minister's Call to Action

On Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged the residents of Uttar Pradesh to actively participate in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative, setting an ambitious goal of hoisting the national flag in five crore homes this year. According to an official statement, during a high-level meeting, he reviewed preparations for the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, Independence Day celebrations, and the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day events. He emphasized that this initiative is not merely a campaign but a national movement aimed at fostering patriotism, respect for the national flag, and connecting citizens with the glorious history of the nation.

Encouraging Mass Participation

He stated that the campaign should evolve into a mass movement with widespread public involvement. The Chief Minister instructed that the national anthem and national song must be played in all cinemas across the state on August 14 and 15. The meeting revealed that over 4.10 crore flags were hoisted in 2022, with projections of more than 4.50 crore in 2023 and 2024, and 4.76 crore in 2025.

Logistics for Flag Distribution

The Chief Minister directed that arrangements for the production, availability, and distribution of national flags should be made in a timely manner. He proposed involving self-help groups, Khadi and village industries, MSME units, and local production centers in the campaign. The flags should be made easily accessible to the public through ration shops, village council buildings, public service centers, tehsils, development block offices, schools, Anganwadi centers, post offices, petrol pumps, and other designated locations.

Upcoming Events and Cleanliness Drive

He also instructed that all events for the Kakori Train Action Day on August 9 and Independence Day on August 15 should be conducted with full respect, dignity, and a sense of patriotism. Prior to these events, a special cleanliness drive should be launched across the state. The contributions of the immortal heroes of the freedom struggle should be widely communicated to the public.

Preparations for Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

The meeting also reviewed preparations for the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, scheduled for August 14. Yogi directed that exhibitions related to the horrors of partition should be organized in every district headquarters, including the state capital, Lucknow.
