US Takes Control of Venezuela: A Bold Move by Trump Amidst Political Turmoil
US Military Operation in Venezuela
Washington: On Saturday, President Donald Trump announced that the United States intends to oversee Venezuela until a secure transition of power is achieved.
In a dramatic military operation, US forces apprehended Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and transported him out of the country. This event marks a significant escalation in the Trump administration's efforts regarding the oil-rich nation.
Maduro, along with his spouse, was taken from their residence on a military base and placed aboard a US warship, en route to New York to face criminal allegations.
Trump stated that the US presence in Venezuela is already established, although there were no visible indications of American governance at that moment.
During a press conference at Mar-a-Lago, Trump declared, “We will manage the country until we can ensure a safe, proper, and judicious transition.” He emphasized that this operation serves as a warning to those who threaten American sovereignty or jeopardize American lives.
In response, Venezuelan state television aired live footage of Maduro's supporters protesting in the streets of Caracas.
