Washington: In a series of diplomatic discussions, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio connected with foreign ministers from Italy, Cyprus, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, as the US enhances its diplomatic engagement regarding Iran and the broader Middle Eastern landscape, according to the State Department.


The conversations centered on the latest developments concerning Iran and the overall regional dynamics.


Rubio's initial discussion was with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, where they exchanged views on the situation in Iran and the Middle East, reaffirming the robust partnership between the US and Italy.


Following this, Rubio engaged with Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, focusing on similar topics and reinforcing the strong ties between Washington and Nicosia.


In a separate dialogue, Rubio spoke with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, emphasizing the unacceptable nature of attacks on Turkey's territory and assuring full US support, while both leaders acknowledged the strength of their bilateral relationship.


Rubio also reached out to Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, expressing gratitude for Saudi Arabia's response to the recent attack on the US Embassy in Riyadh. They discussed the Iranian regime's threats to regional stability and other pertinent issues in the Middle East.
