The event, attended by dignitaries including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, marks a significant moment for cricket in the state. Kapoor announced plans for future expansion, aiming to host matches in additional cities to nurture local talent. This season promises to elevate the cricketing landscape in Uttar Pradesh, making it a festival for all residents.
 

Inauguration of UPT20 League Season 4

During the grand opening ceremony of the UPT20 League Season 4, League Chairman Sanjay Kapoor delivered a remarkable address, highlighting the cricketing potential of Uttar Pradesh, the achievements of the 'Speed Hunt' initiative, and the future direction of the tournament. This event took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla, and a large audience. Kapoor noted that the UPT20 League has significantly altered the cricket landscape and future prospects in the state.


Cultural Significance and Community Engagement

In his welcoming remarks, Kapoor expressed appreciation for the dignitaries present and underscored the cultural importance of the tournament. He stated, "The fourth season of the UPT20 League marks a pivotal moment for cricket in Uttar Pradesh and for its residents. This event transcends being merely a cricket league; it is a celebration for the entire state. Together, we will elevate the cricketing talent of Uttar Pradesh to new heights. I extend my sincere thanks to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla for their invaluable support in shaping this league into a grand event."


Achievements of the 'Speed Hunt' Initiative

Kapoor highlighted the remarkable success of the 'Speed Hunt' initiative, aimed at scouting young athletes from rural backgrounds. He explained, "This initiative has allowed many talented children from underprivileged areas to showcase their skills. We conducted selections transparently and without any fees." He proudly announced that players identified through this program are now part of all six teams in the UPT20 League, with some attracting significant bids during the auction, showcasing the abundant talent in Uttar Pradesh.


Plans for Future Growth

The Chairman also shared plans for expanding the league's reach and discovering more regional talent. He mentioned, "This season, matches are being held in Lucknow and Kanpur, providing an exciting experience for fans. However, given the wealth of talent in Uttar Pradesh, we aim to host UPT20 League matches in cities like Varanasi and Gorakhpur in the future."
