The Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) has officially announced the nomination of Upendra Kushwaha as the candidate for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. According to a statement released by the party's Bihar unit, the nomination will be submitted on March 5. Nitin Bharti, the state spokesperson for RLM, revealed that after extensive discussions, the party leadership reached a unanimous decision to nominate Kushwaha.

In the statement, Bharti mentioned that a prominent leader associated with the NDA, Upendra Kushwaha, will file his nomination as the candidate from the Rashtriya Lok Morcha. It is anticipated that all senior leaders from the party and its allied groups will be present at this event. Kushwaha is a significant figure in Indian politics and serves as the national president of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
This morning, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its first list of candidates for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections, approving nine names from six states. This announcement was made by the party's central election committee from its headquarters in New Delhi.
From Bihar, the party has nominated National President Nitin Nabin and Shivesh Kumar. In Assam, the candidates are Terash Gowala and Jogen Mohan. Lakshmi Verma is the candidate from Chhattisgarh, while Sanjay Bhatia represents Haryana. In Odisha, Manmohan Samal and Sujit Kumar will contest on BJP tickets, and Rahul Sinha has been nominated from West Bengal. Previously, the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) announced four candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections: Babul Supriyo, Rajiv Kumar, Menaka Guruswamy, and Koyal Mallik.

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has also declared two candidates. Party president and leader of the opposition in the Odisha Assembly, Naveen Patnaik, announced the names of Dr. Santarupa Mishra and Dr. Datteshwar Hota for the upcoming elections. The Election Commission has scheduled the voting for March 16, with the counting of votes set for the same day at 5 PM. The entire election process will conclude by March 20.
