Heatwave Conditions Expected Across Multiple States
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning indicating that heatwave conditions are likely to affect certain areas in northwest, central, and parts of eastern India over the next four to five days.
The IMD forecasts that regions including Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, East Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, and parts of East Uttar Pradesh will experience heatwave conditions on various dates from April 20 to April 25.
Additionally, hot and humid weather is anticipated in isolated areas of Gangetic West Bengal from April 20 to 26, as well as in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from April 20 to 22. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, along with Kerala and Mahe, are also expected to face similar conditions between April 20 and 24, while coastal Gujarat may see heat on April 24 and 25.
Warm nights are predicted for isolated pockets in Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha on April 20 and 21, with Chhattisgarh and Odisha experiencing warm nights from April 20 to 22.
The IMD also noted that moderate to severe thunderstorms could occur across various states in southern, central, eastern, and northwestern India on Monday.
Furthermore, there is a chance of hailstorms affecting Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh on the same day.
