UPCA Announces Ticket Refund Process Following Canceled T20 Match
Ticket Refund Process
The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has released specific instructions regarding ticket refunds after the T20 match between India and South Africa was called off due to heavy fog at Lucknow's Ekana International Cricket Stadium.
Refund Guidelines
Online Ticket Holders
For those who purchased tickets online, refunds will be processed digitally. Ticket holders will soon receive notifications via their registered email addresses regarding the refund process.
Offline Ticket Holders
According to the UPCA announcement, individuals who bought tickets offline can claim their refunds on December 20 and 21, from 11 am IST to 6 pm IST, at the box office located at Gate No. 2 of the Ekana International Cricket Stadium.
Those with offline tickets must present the original ticket along with a government-issued ID. They will also need to fill out a refund form that includes accurate bank details to facilitate a smooth refund process. Dedicated counters for refunds will be set up at the venue.
It is essential for offline ticket holders to be present in person and bring their original tickets and a copy of their Government ID for verification. Once verified, refunds will be directly credited to the respective bank accounts based on the details provided in the refund form. Refunds will only be initiated after thorough verification of the submitted documents.
Match Canceled Due to Weather Conditions
The match in Lucknow was slated to start at 7:30 pm IST on December 17, with the toss scheduled for 7:00 pm. However, after six inspections, the umpires determined that the conditions were not suitable for play, leading to the match being abandoned without any play. The final inspection occurred at 9:25 pm.
The concluding T20I between India and South Africa is set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on December 19.
