UP Warriorz Launches UPW Fan Adda for Women's T20 World Cup 2026
UPW Fan Adda Initiative
The UP Warriorz, a prominent team in the Women's Premier League (WPL), has introduced the UPW Fan Adda, a unique initiative designed to provide safe and curated viewing experiences for women and families during India's ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 matches. This initiative will take place in four cities across Uttar Pradesh.
Match Screenings Across Uttar Pradesh
The first screening event is set for June 21, coinciding with India's match against South Africa. This match will be shown simultaneously in Varanasi (Sol Haveli Bar, Kaiser Palace), Lucknow (Social Lucknow), Agra (Unplugged Courtyard), and Kanpur (Mambo). Following this, another screening will occur in Lucknow on June 28 for the match against Australia.
Creating a Safe and Inclusive Environment
The UPW Fan Adda emphasizes the importance of experiencing sports together. The initiative aims to provide a Safe Space to Watch, selecting venues that foster a welcoming and secure atmosphere for women and families to enjoy the Women's T20 World Cup. All screenings will adhere to ICC and broadcaster rights, ensuring a compliant and high-quality viewing experience for attendees.
Supporting India's Legacy in Women's Cricket
The screenings come at a pivotal time for Indian women's cricket, following their historic ODI World Cup victory in 2025. The T20 World Cup presents an opportunity to build on this legacy. As a founding member of the WPL, UP Warriorz is committed to involving fans from Uttar Pradesh in this journey, encouraging them to support Team India as they aim to make history.
Leadership Insights on the Initiative
Jinisha Sharma, Director of Capri Sports, expressed, "Women's cricket in India has never been more vibrant, and we aim to spread that enthusiasm throughout Uttar Pradesh. UPW Fan Adda is about creating spaces where women and families can unite, feel comfortable, and cheer for a team that is making history. This embodies the spirit of UP Warriorz—bringing the sport closer to those it inspires." Kshemal Waingankar, COO & Director of Cricket at Capri Sports, added, "What this Indian team is achieving is remarkable. After their historic 50-over World Cup win last year, the T20 tournament offers a chance to solidify a legacy that will shape women's cricket for generations. Through Fan Adda, we want fans across UP to engage in this journey—not just as spectators but as a community driving this movement forward."
