Father of the Bride Shares the Full Story
The bride's father informed the authorities that his daughter was engaged to 20-year-old Pradeep Kumar from Babri village in Shamli district six months ago. However, just a day before the wedding was scheduled, Pradeep's brother passed away. The groom's family stated they would inform the bride's family about the wedding status, but after a long wait with no communication, the bride's father decided to proceed with the wedding preparations.
A Second Marriage Arrangement
With no response from Pradeep's family, the bride's father arranged for her to marry Akash, a resident of Diggi village under the jurisdiction of the Meerut Medical Police Station. The wedding was set for March 10, a Tuesday, and preparations were underway.

It was later discovered that the bride was a minor, and when her family was asked for identification or documentation, they were unable to provide any. Consequently, the girl was taken by the Child Welfare Committee for assessment, and both wedding parties returned home.
