Unusual Wedding Mix-Up in Madhya Pradesh Due to Power Outage
Power Outage Leads to Bride Swap
Experiencing power cuts is quite common in rural areas, but a recent incident in a village in Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh, turned chaotic during a wedding. On the day of the ceremony, as the brides were about to take their vows, the electricity suddenly went out, leading to a surprising mix-up. In the darkness, the brides inadvertently exchanged partners, and the revelation of this swap came to light on their wedding night.
This peculiar event unfolded in the village of Aslana on May 5, where two sisters were celebrated in a grand wedding ceremony under the same canopy. Both brides wore identical outfits and were veiled, preparing to take their vows with their respective grooms. However, when the power went out, they ended up circling the fire with the wrong grooms.
The situation escalated when the grooms took the wrong brides home. It was only during the wedding night, when the veils were lifted, that the mix-up was discovered. The grooms quickly informed their families, leaving everyone astonished. The grooms refused to accept the brides they had mistakenly taken.
Following this, a priest was summoned to rectify the situation. A compromise was reached between the two families, and the grooms were married to the correct brides once again. The grooms, named Bhola and Ganesh, belong to the Bhil community. Ganesh was originally set to marry Nikita, while Bhola was to wed Nikita's sister. The confusion arose due to the power outage and the identical outfits worn by the brides.
Ramesh, the father of the brides, explained that the entire mix-up was caused by the power cut. Fortunately, both daughters have now been married to their rightful grooms, and everything has been resolved. This unusual incident has become a hot topic of discussion in the village, reminiscent of scenarios typically seen in movies. However, it has now become a reality.
