The thief entered the temple in an intoxicated state, broke the lock, and took money from the donation box along with gold and silver ornaments from the idol of Goddess Sheetala. However, as he attempted to escape after the theft, the effects of intoxication and sleeping pills overwhelmed him, causing him to doze off right there.

On Tuesday morning, villagers noticed the temple door ajar and found a man deeply asleep inside. Upon suspicion, they checked his bag, which was filled with temple items. This revelation startled the villagers. They promptly informed the officer in charge of Barajamada OP, Baleshwar Oraon.

The police arrived at the scene and apprehended the thief. A case has been registered against him for theft and property damage, and further action is underway. The accused, identified as Veer Nayak, is a resident of Tankisai. He had consumed a significant amount of alcohol with friends before scaling the temple wall to gain entry. During the search, police recovered the money taken from the donation box, the stolen gold and silver jewelry, and sleeping pills. Although he intended to steal the silver ornaments and the money, he was unable to complete the theft. Meanwhile, local residents are calling this incident a miracle from the goddess.
