UP News: The case surrounding the viral footage of the youth's beating at the Bihar police station in Unnao has taken an intriguing turn. The young man, in his statement to the CO, asserted that it was a ghost who was shouting profanities, not him. He stated, 'The police did not hit me; they were beating that ghost. I have no recollection of the events.' The CO confirmed that statements have been recorded, where the youth attributes the beating to the ghost. A forensic examination of the video will be conducted.
On April 13, a video surfaced showing a young man screaming in an unusual manner inside the Bihar police station. During the interrogation, he narrated a story about a ghost, which led to his beating by the officer. The investigation has been assigned to CO Madhupnath Mishra, who reported that statements from all police personnel, the victim, and his family have been collected. The station officer, Rahul Singh, mentioned that the incident occurred on February 20, when the youth was brought in for disturbing the peace.
He was accused of taking 10,000 rupees from a villager under the pretext of executing a land deed but failed to return the money or complete the deed. When asked for the money, he allegedly responded with insults. According to the CO, the youth in the video blamed the ghost for his predicament, claiming that it often possesses him. He insisted that it was the ghost who was cursing inside the station, and he has no memory of the incident. Family members noted that he has been mentally unstable for some time and often speaks nonsensically.
In this case, CO Madhupnath Mishra stated that the youth is making incoherent claims. He has attributed the blame to the ghost. Statements from the police officers, the youth, and his family have been taken. However, it remains unclear who recorded the video and when it was made public. The authenticity of the video and whether it has been tampered with will be verified through forensic analysis. A complete report will be submitted to the authorities soon.
