Jaisalmer Police Capture Unusual Thief

Jaisalmer News: In the golden city of Jaisalmer, law enforcement has apprehended a peculiar and cunning thief. This individual not only pilfered valuable items but also lingered at the crime scene for two to three hours, enjoying meals and leaving sarcastic slogans on the walls. Identifying himself as 'Bihari Babu', he left a notable message in lipstick after robbing an engineer's residence.

The incident occurred on the night of January 31, when a burglary took place at the official residence of Assistant Engineer Sohan Jangid in the IGNP Colony of Jaisalmer. The thief broke the lock and made off with a laptop, television, perfume, and branded clothing. However, upon arrival, both the police and the homeowner were astonished to find the message left on the wall.

Using lipstick, the thief wrote in large letters: 'If you keep liquor at home, make sure to have potato chips as well.' He further taunted the police by stating, 'If you file a complaint at the station, it will be a waste of time; don’t file a report.'

Arrest After Three Months of Investigation

Taking the challenge seriously, the police initiated an investigation led by Jaisalmer Kotwali Station Officer Surajaram. They activated informants and, based on technical evidence and information, conducted a raid in Jodhpur, resulting in the arrest of 39-year-old Tejaram Suthar. The stolen laptop from the engineer's home was recovered from him.

Thief's Strange Habits and Methods

During police questioning, several shocking revelations about the accused emerged. Tejaram did not flee immediately after committing theft; instead, he would stay for two to three hours, eating food from the refrigerator and using the stolen branded perfumes and clothes. He already has 18 theft cases registered against him and readily admits to his crimes in court, saying, 'Yes, I did steal.' After serving his sentence, he quickly resumes his criminal activities.

Currently, the Jaisalmer police are holding the accused in custody, working to recover items from other thefts. Meanwhile, the story of this 'Bihari Babu' and his unusual demands has gone viral across Rajasthan.
