Jaisalmer Police Capture Notorious Thief

The police in Jaisalmer have apprehended a cunning thief named Tejaram, known for leaving quirky messages written in lipstick on walls after committing thefts. Following a burglary at an engineer's residence, he inscribed a message suggesting, 'Keep chips along with liquor.' This thief is also known for lingering at crime scenes to enjoy meals, and he has a history of 18 prior offenses.

On the night of January 31, a burglary occurred at the government residence of Assistant Engineer Sohan Jangid in IGNP Colony, Jaisalmer. The thief broke in, stealing a laptop, television, perfume, and branded clothing. However, upon arrival, both the police and the homeowner were astonished to find the message left on the wall.

The thief had picked up lipstick from the house and boldly wrote on the wall, 'If you keep liquor at home, make sure to have potato chips too.' He even taunted the police, stating, 'If you file a complaint at the station, it will be a waste of time; don’t bother reporting it.'

Arrest After Three Months of Investigation

Taking the challenge seriously, the police launched an investigation led by Station House Officer Surajaram. They activated informants and, based on technical evidence and tips, arrested 39-year-old Tejaram Suthar in Jodhpur. The stolen laptop from the engineer's home was recovered from him.

Strange Habits and Methods of the Thief

During police questioning, several shocking revelations about Tejaram emerged. Rather than fleeing immediately after a theft, he would stay for 2-3 hours, enjoying food from the fridge and using the stolen branded perfumes and clothes. He has previously confessed to 18 theft cases in court, admitting, 'Yes, I did steal.' After serving his sentence, he quickly resumes his criminal activities.

Currently, the Jaisalmer police are holding the suspect in custody to recover items from other thefts. Meanwhile, the story of this 'Bihari Babu' and his unusual demands has gone viral across Rajasthan.
