Union Minister Jual Oram Envisions Developed India by 2047

Dibrugarh, June 14: Jual Oram, the Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, expressed on Saturday that India is progressing towards realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He emphasized that the government has established a detailed plan and initiated various programs aimed at transforming the nation into a developed state by the 100th anniversary of its independence.
During a public intellectuals’ meeting at the Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation auditorium, Oram noted that the country is experiencing an extraordinary period of growth and development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He highlighted that the government has focused on good governance, infrastructure enhancement, economic advancement, and public welfare over the last twelve years.
This event was part of a nationwide celebration marking twelve years of the Modi administration, themed ‘Twelve Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare’. It attracted a diverse group of intellectuals, academics, professionals, social leaders, and senior citizens who reflected on the nation’s developmental progress and future goals.
Notable attendees included Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan, and other prominent figures from the region.
Oram characterized Viksit Bharat 2047 as a national initiative aimed at elevating India to the ranks of the world's leading developed economies through ongoing investments in infrastructure, technology, innovation, social welfare, and human resource development.
“In our pursuit of a developed India by 2047, extensive groundwork is already in progress through various developmental initiatives and policy measures. A definitive roadmap has been established, and I am optimistic that India will achieve developed nation status by 2047,” stated the Union Minister.
Speakers at the meeting underscored the remarkable changes observed across various sectors over the past decade, including improved connectivity, digital governance, enhanced welfare delivery systems, economic reforms, and increased opportunities for the youth. They emphasized the necessity of collective involvement in nation-building and the importance of sustaining growth momentum in the future.
Earlier, Oram engaged in a public outreach program in the city, organized by the local unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He visited the home of renowned educator and former Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) candidate Dr. Kamini Ranjan Baruah, and also met with chartered accountant and social worker Jyoti Prasad Kanoi, along with eminent physician Dr. Raj Kumar Damani. These discussions centered on social development, public welfare, education, and community involvement in national progress.
The Union Minister was accompanied by senior BJP officials, including Dibrugarh District BJP president Dulal Bora and other party members.
