Motivating the Indian Contingent

Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, has rallied the Indian team in Glasgow as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 Commonwealth Games, set to take place from July 23 to August 2. During his visit, he interacted with athletes, officials, and members of the Indian community, emphasizing the government's commitment to fostering sports excellence and promoting a healthier India.

'Compete With Passion and Spirit'

In his address to the athletes, Mandaviya encouraged them to approach their competitions with confidence, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude, reminding them not to succumb to pressure. He emphasized that true success is not solely measured by medals but by the spirit and determination shown while representing India.

"When you step onto the field, do so without panic or haste. You carry the blessings of Goddess Durga and Mahakali, along with the hopes of 1.4 billion people. Compete with passion and spirit," he stated.

"I firmly believe that with high morale and support, my athletes will never face defeat. Whether you win a medal or learn from the experience, we will not be defeated. While we aim to bring home medals, embodying the true spirit of India is what will ultimately lead to success," he added.

Support from the Prime Minister and Team Confidence

Mandaviya highlighted the ongoing encouragement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who ensures that athletes receive the necessary guidance and security while representing the nation. He expressed optimism about the team's performance and their potential to bring honor to India at the Commonwealth Games.

"All necessary arrangements are in place for you. Whether you leave as champions or come to compete, the Prime Minister supports you with guidance and security. I am confident that we will excel at the Commonwealth Games and bring pride to ourselves and our country," he remarked.
