Union Minister Critiques Rahul Gandhi's Claims on Constitution's Safety
Minister's Response to Opposition Leader
On Saturday, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale sharply countered opposition leader Rahul Gandhi's recent statement regarding the Constitution being in danger. Athawale asserted that Gandhi's claims are baseless and devoid of facts, emphasizing that it is not the Constitution that is at risk, but rather the Congress party itself. Speaking to reporters, he stated, 'The Constitution is not in danger; the Congress party is in jeopardy. I do not believe our Constitution faces any threat. In fact, under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, it is being strengthened.'
Athawale's remarks followed Gandhi's tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Day, where Gandhi claimed that every Indian's Constitution is under threat.
Congress Leader's Commitment to Constitutional Values
In a conversation with journalists, the Congress leader highlighted that Dr. Ambedkar serves as an ideal for the nation, having provided a guiding path and the Constitution itself. He stated, 'We remember him and uphold his thoughts and the Constitution. Every Indian's Constitution is at risk, and we are committed to its protection.'
In a post on social media, the Congress leader reiterated his dedication to safeguarding constitutional values, paying homage to Babasaheb Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Day. He noted that Ambedkar's timeless legacy of equality, justice, and human dignity strengthens his resolve to protect the Constitution and inspires their collective struggle for a more inclusive and compassionate India.
