Unexpected Twist at Bihar Wedding: Bride Marries Groom's Brother Instead
A Wedding with a Shocking Turn of Events
It is often said that fate has a hand in matchmaking, and a recent incident from Bihar has reinforced this belief. In a surprising turn of events, a bride ended up taking vows with someone other than her intended groom. This unusual situation unfolded in Morarachak, under the jurisdiction of the Sigoidi police station. As the groom sat at the wedding altar, surrounded by joyous celebrations and traditional songs, the bride was making her way towards the mandap when the police unexpectedly arrived.
Before anyone could comprehend the situation, the police intervened and took the groom away. This sudden action caused the bride to halt in her tracks and retreat. Confusion reigned as guests struggled to understand what was happening. Just then, the village head made a dramatic entrance, and a panchayat was convened. After much deliberation, it was decided that the bride would marry the groom's younger brother instead. Both families agreed to this arrangement, and preparations were quickly made for the younger brother to marry the bride right there at the mandap.
You might be wondering why such a cinematic sequence of events occurred. Let’s delve into the details of this extraordinary case.
The groom, Anil Kumar, son of Sanjay Yadav from Siyarampur, was set to marry a girl from Morarachak named Bhim Yadav, also known as Pankaj. All wedding rituals were proceeding as planned. On June 15, when the wedding procession arrived at Morarachak, the villagers warmly welcomed the guests. As the festivities continued, a girl claiming to be Anil's first wife learned about the wedding and rushed to the Sigoidi police station, urging them to intervene and stop the marriage. She presented numerous photographs of her marriage to Anil, prompting the police to take her side.
Meanwhile, the police informed the village head, Ashok Yadav, about the situation, revealing that the groom was already married to a woman named Ruby. The head promptly informed the girl's father, leaving him and the villagers in shock. The news spread rapidly throughout the village. The girl, accompanied by police, returned to the village, showing evidence of her marriage to Anil.
The first wife asserted that they had been married for a year, leading the police to take Anil into custody. In the meantime, the villagers detained the wedding party. The village head, emphasizing the need for a resolution, facilitated discussions between both parties. After considerable negotiation, it was agreed that the bride would marry the groom's younger brother. The wedding was conducted that morning in the presence of both families, bringing the situation to a close. Subsequently, the police released Anil with a written agreement to live with and care for his wife, Ruby.
