Recognizing the Signs of Intestinal Worms

Children often struggle to communicate their problems to parents, especially as they grow older. They may hesitate to share issues due to fear of restrictions on their pocket money or outside food. Younger children, who may not be able to express themselves verbally, require parents and family members to be vigilant and recognize any signs of distress.

If you suspect that your young child might have intestinal worms but are unsure, there’s no need to panic. In this article, we will discuss common symptoms of intestinal worms and some effective home remedies.

Common Symptoms of Intestinal Worms

Sudden abdominal pain can sometimes indicate the presence of worms, which are frequently found in children's intestines. Symptoms may include digestive issues such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. In severe cases, if the larvae reach the lungs, it can lead to asthma. Children may ingest worms through eating dirt, consuming contaminated food, wearing unclean clothes, or eating outside food, especially if it includes excessive amounts of meat, fish, jaggery, yogurt, or vinegar.
