Significant Drone Attack on Moscow


In a notable escalation, Ukraine has targeted a Moscow oil refinery for the second time within a week, leading to significant disruptions in commercial air traffic at Moscow's airports, according to Russian authorities on Thursday. This incident marks one of the largest drone assaults since the onset of Russia's invasion over four years ago.


The Russian Defense Ministry reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted 555 Ukrainian drones across various regions, with nearly 200 of these drones being shot down as they neared the capital.


Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that several drones struck the Moscow Oil Refinery located on the city's southeastern outskirts.


Additionally, the Russian Transport Ministry announced that operations at four Moscow airports were temporarily suspended due to the attacks.
