Champions League Quarterfinals Confirmed

New Delhi, March 18: Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have successfully eliminated their English rivals, Manchester City and Chelsea, respectively, while Arsenal triumphed over Bayer Leverkusen. Sporting CP also made headlines with a remarkable comeback against Bodo/Glimt, securing their places in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.

Real Madrid continued their dominance over Manchester City, knocking them out for the third consecutive season, thanks to a brace from Vinicius Junior.

Despite being 3-0 down from the first leg, Manchester City started aggressively, hoping to ignite a comeback. However, a penalty leading to Bernardo's red card and a goal for Madrid in the 20th minute made their task significantly harder.

City managed to equalize through Erling Haaland in the 41st minute and had two goals disallowed in the second half. Despite their efforts, Vinicius Jr's last-minute goal sealed a 2-1 victory for Madrid.

On the other hand, PSG dominated Chelsea with an 8-2 aggregate score. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring early, followed by a goal from Bradley Barcola. Senny Mayulu added another after halftime, ensuring PSG's progression to face either Liverpool or Galatasaray in the next round.

Arsenal secured their quarterfinal spot with a 3-1 aggregate win over Leverkusen, highlighted by Eberechi Eze's stunning goal and a smooth finish from Declan Rice.

In a thrilling match, Sporting CP became only the fifth team in Champions League history to overturn a three-goal deficit, scoring twice in extra time to defeat Bodo/Glimt. Goncalo Inácio's header and Pedro Gonçalves' goal set the stage for Maximiliano Araújo and Rafael Nel to seal the comeback.
