Udhayanidhi Stalin's Legal Situation

Udhayanidhi Stalin, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, is expected to be released on Tuesday following police questioning. The state government informed the Madras High Court that it does not plan to remand him.

During the bail hearing presided over by Justice G K Illanthiraiyan, Advocate General Vijay Narayan stated that the government intends to release the opposition leader on station bail after his questioning.

The government emphasized the importance of Udhayanidhi's cooperation with the police regarding an investigation into allegations of inappropriate comments and disrespect towards a woman.

The court acknowledged the Advocate General's statements and subsequently dismissed Udhayanidhi's bail application.

Sources within the party revealed that an anticipatory bail petition was filed promptly after police visited Udhayanidhi's residence in Neelankarai to question him about remarks he made during a protest concerning the Cauvery issue in Thanjavur on Monday.

Despite this, the opposition leader was arrested and taken to Thanjavur for further questioning.
