Thackeray previously stated that his party does not oppose the Hindi language itself. However, he criticized certain factions for equating Marathi individuals with terrorists and for diminishing the significance of Marathi culture.
Political Context of the Meeting
This meeting followed a comment from the Maharashtra Chief Minister, who subtly criticized Thackeray by suggesting he consider joining the ruling party in the Vidhan Parishad, asserting that there is no possibility for his government to transition to the Opposition until 2029.
'Uddhav Ji can consider joining the ruling party'
Fadnavis remarked during Thackeray's farewell from the Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad, stating, "At least until 2029, there is no possibility for us to move to the Opposition. Uddhav Ji can contemplate the possibility of joining this side (the ruling party), which can be considered in a different light, but there is absolutely no chance for us to shift to the Opposition."
