Alliance Announced Ahead of BMC Elections

Mumbai: The leaders of Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, have officially declared their partnership in preparation for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections scheduled for January 15, ending months of speculation.

During a joint press conference, Uddhav emphasized the importance of their unity, stating that the two parties are committed to working together.

Raj Thackeray, however, refrained from disclosing specifics regarding the distribution of seats between the two parties for the crucial BMC elections.

He confidently asserted, "The mayor of Mumbai will be Marathi and will belong to us."

Uddhav further mentioned that they have already agreed on seat allocations for the Nashik Municipal Corporation elections, which will also take place on January 15, alongside elections for Mumbai and 27 other municipal corporations across the state.

He added that discussions are ongoing regarding potential collaborations in other civic bodies.

Uddhav also extended an invitation to those dissatisfied with the current BJP situation to join their alliance.
