Uddhav Thackeray Addresses Shiv Sena MPs Amidst Political Speculations

In a recent meeting with Shiv Sena MPs, Uddhav Thackeray addressed ongoing political speculations regarding the party's future. He emphasized that those wishing to leave are free to do so while reflecting on past splits within the party. Thackeray expressed confidence in his leadership and urged party members to remain steadfast. Meanwhile, MP Sanjay Raut defended Thackeray against claims that he encouraged departures from the party. This meeting highlights the complexities and challenges facing Shiv Sena in Maharashtra's political landscape.

Political Dynamics in Maharashtra

Speculations surrounding the alleged 'Operation Tiger' within Shiv Sena continue to circulate in Maharashtra's political landscape. In this context, Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), convened a meeting with party MPs, aiming to project strength, while leaders from both factions expressed contrasting views on recent events. Sources present at the meeting reported that Thackeray informed the MPs that those wishing to leave the party are free to do so, and he wishes them well for their future.

Reflecting on the rebellion in 2022 that split Shiv Sena into two factions, Thackeray mentioned that he was aware of the unfolding events even during his tenure as Chief Minister, but he never pressured anyone to remain in the party. He reminded the MPs of a significant split four years ago when forty legislators departed. 'Do you think I was unaware of what was happening?' he questioned.

Thackeray reportedly added that those who have left Balasaheb Thackeray's Shiv Sena would eventually regret their decisions, but by then, it would be too late. He expressed optimism, stating, 'It may not be my time today, but it will come tomorrow. Until then, we must stand firm and maintain our courage.' However, in Delhi, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut strongly refuted claims that Thackeray had told leaders they could leave the party if they wished. Raut, who was present throughout the meeting, emphasized that the party chief made no such statement.

Defending Thackeray's leadership style, Raut asserted that no other leader in Maharashtra engages with party workers as frequently as Uddhav Thackeray does.
