Key Decisions from the Food and Civil Supplies Department Meeting

In Jaipur, Ambresh Kumar, the Secretary of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, convened a meeting with departmental officials at the Udaipur Collectorate auditorium. He instructed District Supply Officer Manish Bhatnagar to select one gram panchayat from each block and conduct a door-to-door survey by July 17. This initiative aims to ensure that consumers benefit from all schemes under the public distribution system.

Kumar also emphasized the importance of conducting door-to-door surveys for e-KYC and Aadhaar seeding for those who have been left out, ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their rightful benefits at the grassroots level. He directed the prompt payment of pending bills for food grain transportation from wholesalers and cooperative societies.

Additionally, he ordered a thorough inspection of the stock of wheat at fair price shops, particularly those with allocations exceeding the norm. Strict action will be taken against fair price shop owners if discrepancies in the quantity of food grains are found. The District Supply Officer was instructed to verify the physical stock of wheat and submit a report immediately.

For fair price shop owners previously involved in wheat misappropriation, Kumar directed the filing of First Information Reports (FIRs) and the initiation of PDR proceedings, ensuring that the District Supply Officer is kept informed. Enforcement officers and inspectors who fail to comply with these orders will face action. Kumar expressed dissatisfaction with the prosecution branch's performance and urged timely completion of related tasks.

The meeting was attended by Udaipur's Registrar of Cooperatives, Mrs. Gunjan Chaube, along with all enforcement officers and inspectors, BPCL LPG sales officer Deepak Lamba, and gas agency distributors.
