The UCO Rural Self Employment Training Institute (UCO RSETI), supported by the Ministry of Rural Development of India, is emerging as a vital resource for unemployed youth, steering them towards self-employment and entrepreneurship.

Currently, approximately 50 individuals are participating in specialized training programs focused on mushroom cultivation and fast food preparation at the UCO RSETI center located in Nahan. This initiative is designed to provide young people with essential skills, contemporary techniques, quality control practices, and foundational business knowledge, enabling them to launch their own enterprises post-training.

The trainees have expressed that knowledgeable instructors are imparting comprehensive insights into mushroom production and the fast food industry. They noted that the training is entirely free, with the institute also offering complimentary accommodation and meals during the training period, making it accessible for youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

According to Manjeet, the institute's director, UCO RSETI provides nearly 70 diverse skill-based training programs aimed at budding entrepreneurs. In line with government regulations, free training is available for individuals aged 18 to 50. Upon completing the course, participants receive certificates recognized both in India and internationally.

Additionally, she mentioned that the institute maintains contact with trainees for up to two years following their training, offering ongoing guidance and support until they successfully establish their self-employment ventures.

UCO RSETI is significantly contributing to the self-reliance of youth while also bolstering the rural economy.
