UAE Responds to Missile Threats from Iran Amid Regional Tensions
UAE's Air Defense on High Alert
The United Arab Emirates has announced that its air defense systems are actively responding to a series of ballistic missiles launched from Iran. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that it is fully prepared to tackle any threats to safeguard the nation's territory and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents. Residents in Dubai received alerts on their mobile devices advising them to seek shelter.
In Qatar, locals reported hearing approximately five loud explosions over the capital, Doha, around 01:40 local time. Additional explosions were noted earlier in the morning, but there have been no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
In a related development, the US Department of State has recommended that American citizens evacuate from over a dozen Middle Eastern countries due to ongoing US-Israeli military actions against Iran. Mora Namdar, the assistant secretary for consular affairs, stated that US nationals should leave using commercial transport from Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, the occupied West Bank and Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the UAE, and Yemen.
The rising tensions, particularly following the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, alongside the lack of a clear exit strategy, have sparked fears of a prolonged conflict with significant implications.
