UAE Oil Chief Issues Strong Warning to Iran Over Strait of Hormuz
UAE's Firm Stance on Strait of Hormuz
Dubai: The CEO of the UAE's leading oil company has intensified his criticism of Iran regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that "the weaponization of this crucial waterway is unacceptable in any form."
Sultan al-Jaber, who leads the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, stated online that approximately 230 ships are currently loaded with oil and poised to navigate through the Strait of Hormuz, which is currently under Iranian control.
"These vessels, along with any that follow, must be allowed to traverse this passage freely and without conditions," al-Jaber emphasized. "No nation has the rightful authority to dictate who can pass and under what circumstances."
He further remarked, "Iran has made it evident through its rhetoric and actions that passage is contingent upon permission, conditions, and political influence."
