UAE's Air Defense Achievements
On March 5, 2026, the Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates announced that its air defense systems successfully detected seven ballistic missiles, intercepting and destroying six of them. However, one missile landed within the country. Additionally, the systems identified 131 drones, with 125 intercepted and destroyed, while six fell within UAE territory. The ministry reported that since the onset of Iranian aggression, a total of 196 ballistic missiles have been launched towards the UAE, of which 181 were neutralized, 13 fell into the sea, and two landed on land. Furthermore, 1,072 Iranian drones were detected, with 1,001 intercepted and 71 landing in the country.
Casualties and Response
Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed during these attacks. The incidents resulted in the deaths of three Pakistani, Nepali, and Bangladeshi nationals, along with 94 others suffering minor injuries, including Emiratis, Egyptians, Ethiopians, Filipinos, and various other nationalities. Condemnation of Aggression
The Ministry condemned the launches of drones and missiles, labeling them as "clear aggression and a severe violation of national sovereignty and international law," asserting that the UAE has the right to respond. The ministry further stated that it will take all necessary measures to protect its territories, people, and residents, ensuring the preservation of its sovereignty, security, and stability, as well as the protection of its national interests and capabilities.
