Joint Diplomatic Action by UAE and Jordan

New Delhi: The foreign ministries of both the United Arab Emirates and Jordan have summoned Iranian diplomats in their capitals to express strong objections to recent assaults on their territories, labeling these actions as serious infringements of sovereignty and international law.

In Amman, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called in the Charge d’Affaires from the Iranian Embassy, delivering a stern protest to Tehran.

A statement shared on X indicated that these attacks were directed at Jordanian lands and those of allied Arab nations, denouncing them as a blatant violation of sovereignty and a significant breach of international law and the United Nations Charter. The ministry described the situation as an unacceptable escalation that jeopardizes the safety of citizens and threatens both regional and global security.

Spokesperson Fuad Al-Majali emphasized the need for the Iranian government to halt these attacks immediately, respect Jordan's sovereignty, and adhere to international law and principles of good neighborliness. He stated that Jordan would take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of its citizens.

In a similar vein, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Iranian Ambassador Reza Ameri in Abu Dhabi, delivering a strong note of protest regarding the attacks.

The ministry expressed its condemnation of Iran's actions, asserting that targeting UAE territory is a direct violation of its sovereignty and a threat to national security, as well as a clear breach of international norms and agreements.

Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, firmly rejected any justifications from the Iranian government for the aggressive actions that endangered civilians, including attacks on residential areas, airports, and service facilities. He reiterated that the UAE would not allow its territory to be used for military actions against Iran.

The minister highlighted that these attacks violate the principles of good neighborliness and the UN Charter, undermining the UAE's ongoing efforts for de-escalation and peaceful resolutions with Iran.

He cautioned that these developments could have serious consequences for bilateral relations, affecting political, economic, and commercial interactions.

The synchronized diplomatic protests from Jordan and the UAE reflect a rising concern in the region regarding Iran's military activities and their implications for civilian safety and regional stability.
